London Travel Packages; Unique Adventures

When you are booking your London travel packages or are planning some other holiday adventure, there are many unique adventures in store for you. There are many guided tours available, or you can seek these attractions on your own. Some of the guided tours available are visits to many famous castles and palaces, tours of historical significance, a look into the darker side of London’s past, (Like Jack the Ripper’s grisly route,) as well as many others.

You will find an adventure in itself just visiting on your own. To avoid large crowds and long lines, purchase you tickets and entry passes early, preferably when you are booking your holiday, to save time and money later. If you wait till the last minute you may also find that the tickets to what you desire are not available. You will find that you can combine tickets and make the most of your holiday stay. One of the most popular combination packages is the London Eye and Thames River sightseeing cruise. Not only will you save money by combining the two, you can see panoramic views of this spectacular city from both the water and the air.

Even if you have never heard of British Airways London Eye, chances are you have seen in one of the many movies where it has been used as a back drop, or the center of a scene such as the second Fantastic Four movie. At over 442 feet or 135 meters if you are a native, it is the world’s tallest observation wheel. With panoramic views of London, you will be sure to see many an iconic landmark, including London Tower, Big Ben, and Tower Bridge, just to name a few.

One of the best ways to see London is by boat, and the Thames River Cruise is no exception. Travel in comfort while you leisurely make your way past many of landmarks that make London world famous. With it’s open upper decks, relaxing lower deck saloons that offer food and refreshments including bar services, your sure to enjoy a once in a lifetime experience. Boats depart regularly from Westminster, Waterloo, Tower and Greenwich piers. You can get on or off at any of these points, check out the attractions first hand then hop back on board for the next destination. While the quickest time from pier to pier is around 30 minutes, you could make the full round trip in less than three hours, if you have time constraints.

When ever and where ever you stay in London while on your holiday don’t miss out on one of these opportunities. Since seating and entry are often limited, make sure that you plan ahead to get most out of this unique travel adventure. You are sure to find a unique and wonderful experience that you will never forget. If you want to avoid many of the summer tourists, it may also be a good idea to book your stay during the winter months instead, since many attractions are open year round.

London Travel Packages; Fun for Everyone

Whether it’s taking one of the many guided tours, exploring on your own, there are so many different fantastic adventures in London, it is sure to be fun for the whole family. You will have a hard time being bored with so many different presentations, and you may not experience everything in one shot. If you are booking a travel package to London, the it would be a good idea to see what sights are included in the price, and ask if there is anything else that can be included for a nominal fee.

Many times you will find guided tours that take less than a day and are well worth it. When booking ahead, you will avoid the large crowd, and long lines that are usually associated with many world famous sites, like Buckingham Palace, London Tower and so many others. Booking these tours also not only provides an opportunity to skip the masses altogether, but many offer areas that are not even made available to the general public. With so many different ones to choose from, you will be sure to find something that fulfills the curiosity of every member of your family.

The other advantages of these tours are that you have a knowledgeable guide walking you through every step, and often provides information about an attraction or building that wouldn’t normally be provided on your own. Everything is included with the exception of some meals, entry fees, boat tickets, etc. so you are saving money and time. Since many of these are less than one day, you can get in a tour and still be able to visit other offerings on your own. Spend the day touring old castles and cathedrals by day, and then go out for a night on the town later on. Shorter ones are an average of just three hours, so you may be able to fit more than one in a day.

Another must see attraction that can be included in your travel package is London’s famous subway system, called the Tube, by the locals. With its extensive rail system, you can find yourself at many well know destinations much faster and less stressful than renting an automobile. If you want you could even travel to France this way, using the channel tube.

Some of these tours include visits to famous castles and palaces, including Windsor, Buckingham, and the Kensington Palace. A full day general guided tour that includes more famous sites like London Tower, St. Paul’s Cathedral, and even a boat ride down the River Thames. There are private walking tours of London’s East End, as well as a visit to London’s darker side, with a trip through the LONDON, DUNGEON!!!

Everything on this tour is based on actual events. You will see things like where Jack the Ripper performed his grisly deeds, or where the Great Fire of London occurred. With the many live performers, shows and interactive effects, you will feel like part of this dark world.

London Travel Packages; A History of Sorts

When you are booking your London travel package, it would be a good idea to include one of the many guided tour opportunities available. If you are any kind of history buff, then many of these tours will be right up your alley. With so many to choose from, including many points of historical influences, you could book more than one for your holiday.

For a more general overview, and if you don’t have a lot of time, then the Full London Overview Tour is the one for you. This wonderfully guided tour includes the entire major site, London Gate, Changing of the Guard ceremony, St. Paul’s Cathedral, as well as many other points of interest. You even get to experience taking a boat ride along the famous River Thames, with your final destination being Harrod’s, possibly one of the largest department stores in the world. This tour is approximately eight hours long, and the guides will pick you up from your hotel.

If castles and palaces are what you fancy then there are two package tours that are for you. There is a seven hour tour of both Buckingham Palace, and Windsor Castle. With an early start you will begin at Windsor Castle. With over 900 years of royal history, it is the oldest and largest occupied castle in the world, and an official residence of the Queen herself! Also included on the tour of the castle you will see the Changing of the Guard ceremony, St. George’s Chapel and see where King John signed to Magna Carta.

Buckingham Palace has been the official home of the Royal Family since 1837. Today it is the home of Her Majesty the Queen. Here are many sites to see here as well, and you can even take an audio tour, telling you more about the royal lineage. Since the guided tour ends at this destination, you can explore this spectacular setting at your leisure.

Another tour you may enjoy is a visit the Kensington Palace home to both Princess Diana and Queen Victoria. With a history spanning 300 years, the palace has seen its share of great events and dramas. Not only was Queen Victoria born here, but also where she had discovered that she had become queen.

One of the great things about going on one of these tours is the fact that since you have your tickets ahead of time, there is not waiting to get in, and sometimes you will enter before the facility opens to the general public. This is a beautiful thing, especially during the summer months, when the crowds and lines can be extremely long, even in the early morning hours.

Be sure that you book these tours along with you holiday package. You could save time and money, and have less of a risk that one of these once in a lifetime adventures are already full. With so many that are a day or less, you could even book more than one if you have some time. It will well be worth it, and you may find historical information that you wouldn’t discover easily elsewhere.
